Letterbook, 1831-1840.

Consists of letters concerning Dumaresq's ship and its cargo. During the years covered in this volume, he primarily sailed the ship Martha on a route from Boston, Ma. to China. Some of the letters were to and from those merchants sending or receiving goods in New York and Philadelphia, Pa. Tea was the main item transported. Also included are instructions from the ship's owners. Thomas H. Perkins, Jr. was a frequent correspondent.
